Jennifer Mccormack-Crockett is one of the strongest women I know, and believe when stating so I speak for all that know her. The strength I am referring to is not in her physicality, but in her attitude - she has such a never-ending spirit for life even throughout her recent years of trial and tribulation.

While I've only known Jen for 5 years, during that time she has made such a positive impact on my life that I am at a loss why this beacon of light with so much to offer this world would be relentlessly burdened with the aliments and hardships she has had to overcome and is currently battling. So, as a token of my appreciation for what she has given me in the short time that I've known her I established this site in hopes to give something back and offer some relief to her and her family during their time of need.

Jen's battle started many years ago during her freshman year in high school at the age of 13. She was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, and had to endure 2 years of chemotherapy and 6 weeks of radiation. She BEAT IT!

Years later she met, fell in love with and married her husband Travis Crockett and they became parents to their beautiful son Logan in 2010. Due to complications, Jen delivered Logan at 32 weeks (7 weeks early), he weighed 3 lbs. and 9 oz. Logan was in NICU (neonatal intensive-care unit) for 10 weeks before he was released to come home. Once released he had to be fed through a feeding tube and required oxygen. Today he is a healthy, happy 4 year old boy and is his mother's pride and joy. Another OBSTCALE OVERCOME!

June 2012 brought more dismay, Jen was diagnosed with Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDU), the most aggressive/fast growing cancer type. She started chemotherapy immediately as the breast tumor was quite large and had to be shrunken before surgery could occur. She underwent a bi-lateral mastectomy with lymph node removal in January 2013, then completed 6 weeks of radiation from April - June 2013. Everyone was hopeful the treatment and surgery had removed all traces of the cancer, but sadly it returned in November 2013.

All treatment for Jen is being handled through Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA/UW); she has an incredible team of providers caring for her. Jen has participated in trial studies, along with all the standard chemo regimens used for this particular type of cancer. However, to everybody's disappointment the cancer has been unresponsive.

At present, her cancer has manifested as tumors on her skin and her right arm has ballooned up 3x's it normal size due to her body not being able to drain fluid properly with the missing lymph nodes. Even through all this pain, she is still smiling and living life to its fullest to the best of her ability. We have high hopes a treatment is out there that her cancer will respond to and pray that it will be found soon.

As you can imagine, for all the time Jen has spent and continues to spend at the hospital for treatments, blood transfusions, scans, etc. the expenses add up quickly. For those who have been impacted by Jen in your life and are looking for a way to give back or to just help in her time of need, you can pay it forward now. For those who may not know Jen, but were moved by her courageous story and feel compelled to give some relief, look no further.

Along with this donation site, a calendar is being created for delivering the family home cooked meals as another avenue of giving. Once this site is completed an update will be issued with a link to the calendar for those wanting to participate and sign up.

I'd like to personally thank everyone who has lent a hand to this family in easing their everyday struggles which we take for granted (cooking, running errands, visiting, etc.). A special thanks to her mother Cindy who is her daily caregiver - I now see where Jen gets her strength from.

It's amazing what happens when people come together, and can't wait to see what this movement unfolds. GO TEAM JEN!

Blessings to all, with love - Shayna
