Team JC - Autism Awareness

Our son Jayden-Cruz was a healthy developing baby boy with a loving, bubbly personality. He was hitting all his milestones early and had lots of babble and words, he was extremely sociable.

Even as a toddler you could see he had a lust for life, people, music, dancing and lots of cuddles and kisses. As parents we adored him and his big sister who was only 4 at the time already had formed a strong bond and he loved her kisses and cuddles too.

Tragically at 17 months things started to change very quickly.....within weeks Jayden-Cruz lost all his words, lost sound,  became very anxious around people and crowds, lost eye contact and people became invisible. His play suddenly changed and he would sit alone and find objects to repetitively line up, he stopped eating solids and accepted mainly a liquid diet.  It scared us that almost overnight he did not know us and from kisses and cuddles he started kicking, head butting and biting us all:the strain emotionally, physically and mentally affected our little family very quickly.

Cruzy was later diagnosed with Autism (a condition of the brain) aswell as Kawasaki disease (a condition of the heart): as parents we could not believe the change and could not cope with the reality being presented to us. Our perfect little boy's body had changed overnight and it started affecting every cell, every organ, every part of his little body.

We knew that behavioral therapy was available but at a very high cost. We also knew there were many specialised doctors around the world that dealt with nutritional healing but again at extortionate rates.

We were told to be strong and just accept what had happened but we could not do this:we knew we could bring our lost little boy back and no cost in the world would get in our way.

To date we have sold our cars, the house we built and several sentimental possessions to fund Cruzys behavioral and medical intervention.  All our earnings have also gone towards therapy costs and nutritional intervention. Jayden-Cruz has had 40 hours of therapy a week since he was 2 years old and this is something we work on around the clock. He has had several intrusive blood tests, heart echoes, brain scans, medications and supplements to heal what has been broken and very slowly we have started finding our boy again.

We are currently working hard to launch and Autism provision in the UK to deliver this two pronged specialist therapy to many more children. We are a  community interest company (CIC) focused on giving children as young as 18months intervention during a crucial time of brain development, making a huge difference to the rest of their lives. We are working with some of the best in the country to deliver a standard of excellence.Thank you for helping us start this journey and make a difference:
