Please join #TeamBrett along with Brett Cohen's family and friends to raise money to help with his battle against ALS!
Brett was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, in January 2013 . Brett was a talented and successful designer who lost his livelihood due to ALS. ALS is a terminal neuromuscular disease with no known cure. It affects voluntary muscles, eventually leading to muscle weakening and wasting, twitching, and an inability to move the arms, legs, and body. Over the past few months Brett's symptoms have significantly worsened and have been affecting his daily lifestyle; he has limited ability to move his arms and legs and uses a wheelchair. Brett is now in need of 24 hour care. His longtime partner, Ben, is no longer able to work and is now Brett's fulltime caretaker.
Although there will be many expenses along the way as they struggle with this disease, they have an immediate need for a handicapped accessible van so Brett can venture out of the house, and transport his wheelchair to doctor's appointments. We are asking for your help and any donation will be greatly appreciated.
