In memory of Amy - MOOvember

*** Amy Rose Elizabeth - 5 Years Old forever ***

Most of you reading this will know about Amy, but for those that don't please read her story below.

* Amy had what was thought a bug, but resulted in an admission to Aberdeen Children's Hospital.  Amy deteriorated very fast & on the second night she went into respiratory arrest,  due to the quick actions of her amazing Mummy Amy was resuscitated, and then given the MRI they had been waiting for. That showed a 5cm tumour & also a bleed on her brain. Amy received surgery to fit a shunt to relieve some pressure from her brain.

She was then transferred to the ICU at Edinburgh sick kids hospital and she had more surgery, this time to remove 100% of the tumour .
That tumour was an aggressive Medulloblastoma (brain cancer). She would need radiotherapy to treat this but...Amy never woke up to start the radiotherapy. She just remained in ICU, sleeping.

The reason Amy didn't wake up, is that the tumour and subsequent bleed had squashed her brain stem so much that there was never a chance she would wake up, it had caused Locked In Syndrome, and left her severely brain damaged.. little by little Amy was taken.
One month after Amy was admitted to Aberdeen hospital, She passed away, on the 25th September at Rachel House Hospice in Kinross.
In her Mummy's arms, listening to her Mummy's heartbeat. The same way she came to this world.

*********
Firstly thank you to Hayley who is joining me for MOOvember (1st Nov - 30th Nov). If you weren't already aware, myself & Hayley have had dealings with food allergies with the kids... So MOOvember is where we will give up Cows Milk and all the luxuries that come with it, like JAFFA CAKES, Oh how i miss my JAFFA CAKES. Please if you think this isn't difficult just read the ingredients of pretty much everything... Ahhh you will see it.. Goodbye gravy granules, see you in December :(
So a little different this time around. This MOOvember we both really want to say thank you to the ICU at Edinburgh Sick Kids and Rachel House Hospice.  We will split every penny we raise between them.  I think they are pretty deserving, Ed Sick Kids has played a big part in my family before, and i really want to give them something back. No matter how small. Lily Iris is also taking part, she decided all by herself that she wanted to do something to remember Amy ...

#TeamAmy ***  We have set up this GoFundMe Campaign as we are going to split any money donated equally between the 2 specific places that really were there for and cared for Amy so well in her last weeks (ICU AT EDINBURGH CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL) & days (RACHEL HOUSE HOSPICE IN KINROSS)  There is no way to set up direct payment to them, as both comee under very large Scotland wide Organisation... We want the money to be used by the people that actually met and cared for Amy.. as we know it's more than needed and will be put straight to use for the other children and their parents that never stop needing their help.  ICU AT EDINBURGH CHILDREN'S will be given the funds to use to get some extra comfort in tne parents room. With a child in Intensive Care, most parents are there 24 hours a day. Any little bit of comfort is so very important to them.  We will give RACHEL HOUSE HOSPICE funds to buy some new books and toys, and if possible pyjamas / warm cardigans/jumpers.. Again the basics can be the most useful to families dealing with the most heartbreaking of  times.  We Will be trying to raise as much as we can during November aka MOOvember. We will keep the campaign open for a couple weeks after MOOvember, for anyone that didn't get time to donate, with the last day of 15th December... With the money then being split between them both ❤️ Both will be sent a cheque the same week with do much thanks from us X
