Whitney Lewis beat SJS/TEN

On March 25, 2014, our daughter Whitney M. Lewis contacted me via text to say she was not well. I asked her if she had seen a doctor and did they give her medication. I told her that I hope she feels better and I love her and we will talk later. On March 27, 2014, Whitney was rushed to the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences hospital and then transferred to the Arkansas Children's hospital with a diagnosis of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) but the most severe form Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN). Adverse drug reactions (ADR's) account for approximately 150,000 deaths per year in the U.S. alone for this rare disease making drug reactions the fourth leading cause of death in the United States. Whitney is a college student and working a good job to maintain her own apartment. She was so excited to be living on her own and becoming a woman.  Whitney was very active in high school volleyball and basketball. She had aspirations to continue her education in criminal justice at a University someday. Whitney loves to sing and love to pursue a music career someday. As she battles with SJS/TEN, this fundraiser is to help Whitney continue her dreams after her healing and recovery. Any amount will be a blessing to Whitney and no amount is too small. Please share with all about this SJS/TENS to raise awareness as this disease can strike anyone of use at any age. Thank you and God bless for your contribution and support.
