Joshua Nixon Suicide Awareness

Donation protected
My name is Rob Nixon and on Anzac Day 2016 we lost our eldest son Joshua Nixon sadly to suicide. Joshua was a talented hard working father of three beautiful children but he had a silent struggle following the suicide of his 19 year old sister Aria Nixon on the 2nd March 2010. Joshua was severely bereaved by suicide and his struggle saw him sharply deterioate after being turned away from a Private Mental Health Care Facility, and took his own life just 8 days later. See news story.
We are raising money to establish Te Aria Foundation which has been a 10+ year culmination of grief, pain and suffering, of a dream in honor of a precious young soul who lost a deadly 4 year fight with depression. Now Te Aria Foundation is in honor of our 2 children we have lost to suicide.

We are hoping to raise 10K for the following:

* Set up costs
*Registration fees ACNC, ATO
*Professional fees for Lawyer and Accountant
*Graphic and web design
*Initial Marketing expenses

Our Aim
Te Aria Foundation is a development initiative aimed at Suicide Prevention and Awareness within a multi-cultural framework inspired by the failure of the Australian Health Sytem to provide adequate services to grieving and suffering families across the Nation.
Our Mission Statement
The mission of Te Aria Foundation is the Prevention and Protection associated with the stigma surrounding depression, self inflicted harm and suicide. By targeting survivors and those severly bereaved by suicide our vision is to provide intervention services by providing step by step assistance and absolute attention and support.
Our Vision- The end of the Rope.
We are all on this journey of life together. Our journey begins in the womb and connected to the umbilical chord (the beginning of the rope). We travel seperate pathways inspired by our efforts to link this rope around the world by spreading the word and raising the awareness of those in desperate need and hope of connecting their end of the rope. There is only two ends of a rope. At one end are those who have a duty of care and responsibility to seek out those who are desperately trying to grasp the end of the rope, to link them to those who can pull them to safety.
The concept derives from the people, the families that are struggling and those that are left behind to face the unanswered questions, the whys, the hurt, the anger, the guilt, the silence, the loneliness, the inability to say goodbye, and the failure of a Health System in a developed country.
Our Vision is to Connect the Rope Across Australia and New Zealand By Raising the Awareness and Prevention of Suicide.
