Taylor Bell's wish trip to Disney!

Donation protected

Our sweet, loving Taylor left us on the evening of December 23rd. She passed away peacefully after a courageous week surrounded by family and friends.

Taylor was readmitted to the Foothills Hospital on Thursday, Dec. 19th where it was determined that the cancer had spread. Her health declined very rapidly. The few days she spent at the hospital were filled with warmth and love as family and friends stood by her. Christmas was celebrated on Sunday, and her wish to exchange presents on this, her favourite holiday, was fulfilled.

Taylor's dream to travel to Disneyland was not to come to fruition, but so many more dreams were filled during her short well-lived life. Taylor, her family and friends were deeply touched by the outpouring of your generous donations. Thank you, thank you.

Because of your outpouring support Taylor's family will be going away to Disney Land on Janurary 24th, 2014 as planned.

For those of you who know Taylor Bell, she is an amazing, beautiful and talented young lady! Daughter to Don and Jacqueline, big sister to her brother Travis, granddaughter, niece, and a friend to many of you. This young lady can sing, dance, act and make you laugh harder then you care to know. Not to mention, she has a rather large love for Vampire Diaries; I mean who doesn't!

Taylor was accepted at Randolph Academy for Performing Arts this past September to pursue her dreams to sing/act on Broadway, but unfortunately 'cancer' has gotten in the way!! This past April Taylor was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia; cancer of the blood. She was treated with rounds of chemo which were extremely difficult on her and then the end of August received a bone marrow transplant. Everything appeared to be going well through the fall months, but the end of November, a bone marrow aspiration showed that the cancer had come back. Not what any 20 year old needs to hear or should have to ever deal with...This is not right, and we are all scared, angry and grief stricken!

Taylor is not curable. Despite this, Taylor is being treated with a new chemo regiment which we hope will provide some relief. AML is a life threatening disease, and the prognosis is poor; a person undergoing a transplant needs a care giver 24/7 and of course Don and Jacqueline have been by her side all the way. They have had to put their lives and careers on hold and one can only imagine the emotional stress as well as the financial burden this puts on their family while supporting Taylor's journey to beat cancer.

We are reaching out for your help. Although there is a 'Wish Foundation' for children in Canada, there is not one that provides funds for young adults and their families. We believe that Taylor and her family should be given this opportunity and this is where you come in...

We have created this page to help raise funds to assist this incredible young lady and her family in their time of need. They have already endured a long, tough 6 months and the journey ahead is filled with many unknowns. With the funds raised we would like give them this opportunity that they otherwise would not be able to afford at this time. Taylor would like to go on a trip to Disneyland in Los Angeles and the funds raised through your support will go to her realizing her dreams. Please feel free to contribute whatever you can and support them during this time.

With this in mind, we do have an ultimate goal to get Taylor and her family away on a trip between January 14, 2014 and January 29th. We will be closing the donation page on January 30, 2014 so in the spirit of the holidays, please help Taylor and her family make this a memorable holiday season.

With love,
The Wheatley's
