Tate's Triumphs

So many of us have been following Tate's Triumphs on Facebook and by being around Ember and Steven, but now they have to take a huge leap of faith. Ember and Tate will be going to Boston Children's Hospital to get Tate on a life-saving liver treatment and to evaluate him for a multivisceral transplant (stomach, spleen, liver, pancreas, small intestine). Steven and their two other children will have to stay home without them. It's still unclear how long they will have to stay in Boston, but it will be at least 2-3 months and it could stretch to several months longer. This is going to be a difficult time for their entire family, splitting them up when life is already so crazy. But God has taken care of them this far, and I know that He will continue to do so!

Due to his secondary insurance refusing to cover Tate's expenses, the Thompson's are now financially responsible for covering Tate's medical flight via air ambulance to Boston out of pocket. This could add up to nearly $7,000 once all the complicated aspects of his transport are accounted for. The clock is ticking on Tate's liver and he needs to get to Boston as soon as possible, before his liver goes into full liver failure.

Because airfare and travel is so expensive, and because Ember will be staying in Boston, this fundraiser has been created so we can help the family have time together while Tate must stay in the hospital in Boston, and so Ember's living expenses may be covered. The money you donate will go towards those expenses incurred as Ember, Steven, their two other children, and Tate take this next step to Tate's healing and trip back home.
