Help Natasha Fight Breast Cancer

My name is Natasha. I am 45 years old. I am
married to Scott and we have two children, Elizabeth, 14 and Caitlin, 10. 

2 years ago I was diagnosed with stage 2b Breast Cancer.

At first when the mammogram results came back the doctors had said there’s nothing to worry about. It’s probably a cyst. I then had a biopsy and was told it was cancer. I felt my whole world was crumbling around me. At first it was explained that it wasn’t a serious cancer. I then had a lumpectomy and they found 2 cancers and said I would need chemo. I thought this could not be happening. I was in complete shock and couldn’t breathe.

I underwent very harsh chemotherapy which made me very sick. I couldn’t swallow. I couldn’t sleep. I was having horrible nightmares. I was sick.

I then had multiple breast surgeries and then a double mastectomy. After having my breasts reconstructed my tissue began dying. That was frightening.

I then needed  a full hysterectomy as the cancer was hormone driven. I am now on hormone medication that keeps the hormones away.

It’s 2018 and I am now needing 2 more surgeries which I am needing to fundraise for. One is to fix the excruciating pain I have from the original reconstruction and to remove the dead tissue.

I also have large out of pocket expenses to fix my teeth that were damaged and 2 teeth dying through chemo.

I am constantly having MRI’s, PET scans, blood tests, medication and specialist appointments.  Which cost alot of money. My body is tired and I am tired. 

Every time I get a pain or something out of the ordinary happens the oncologist sends me for scans thinking it’s a reoccurrence. It’s very scary.

This has taken and still takes a massive amount of money to continue treatment and operations for the next 3 years which is why I am fundraising.

I started off with private specialists in the beginning as that is what was all that was offered to me and they are saving my life. I am too scared to change to the public system when I have this support system of multiple specialists. I trust them wth my life.

No one chooses cancer, you wouldn’t wish it on your worst enemy. Cancer has changed my life and the one thing it has taught me is that there is nothing more important than our health and the love of family and friends. I need to give this my best shot for everyone.
