Hi Everyone,
UPDATE & EDIT:
After further conversations with our Veterinarian, we are only raising the funds for Tank's Echocardiogram at this time as we cannot be certain of his condition until that is done. He is "suspected" to have a PDA (my misunderstanding) but we are going to take it one step at a time and PRAY he does not have a PDA and God willing, he won't and then won't need surgery.
Meet Tank. This beautiful Maltese puppy needs your help. While he looks and acts healthy on the outside, Tank has a congenital defect in his heart that was not detected until now. He has a grade 5 heart murmur, which is pretty severe as 6 is the highest. He is 12 weeks old, and I was asked by a friend to help him. Those who know me know that I couldn't say no. Tank deserves a chance at life and can have one with surgery. He will need an echocardiogram to see his heart function and will need surgery in order to have a healthy life. Tank is suspected to have Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). PDA is a congenital heart defect where the ductus arteriosus, a temporary blood vessel that connects the aorta and pulmonary artery during fetal development, fails to close after birth. If Tank indeed has PDA, without surgery, he has very little chance at a long life. You can actually put your ear to his chest and hear how loud his heart beats. We have an estimate of $850 for his cardiology consult and echocardiogram and then approximately $3,000 for surgery if needed and if there are no additional issues found.
I pray you can help him even with just a few dollars. Thank you!
