Tanisha Pascal-Nelson Memorial Fund
Our dearest sister Tanisha Nelson passed away suddenly on June 17, 2017 at the young age of 35. Tanisha was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and colleague.
Tanisha was bright and charismatic and was bound to accomplish great things despite having accomplished so much, so early. In her short time with us, Tanisha managed to do many wonderful things. She filled her family with joy and unforgettable memories. She was a rock and role model for those who knew her.
To friends and colleagues, Tanisha was an ongoing support system. She always made it a point to support and assist those around her with celebrating life's milestones and helping friends through difficulties in their own lives. Whether it was lengthy calls for advice in order to help a friend prepare for a job interview or researching how to improve her work environment for her colleagues, Tanisha made it a point to always be there for those in need. As a friend, she always sought the best for those around her.
As a parole officer, Tanisha worked to improve the lives of persons re-integrating into society. She worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone had a fair shot at a new life. She believed wholeheartedly, that with the right amount of work and perseverance, second chances were possible.
As a mother, she also sought to improve the social condition not just for her family but for children in need. Tanisha and her husband Sean had spent the last few years welcoming foster children into their home. She thoroughly believe that no child should be left behind and she worked to ensure that she could at least improve the social condition for the children she was able to encounter and mentor over the years.
Tanisha leaves behind a spouse and four children (4, 9, 13 and 18); who grieve her sudden death and will miss her dearly.
