A mother needs to be with her child

Before you pass by this story I ask you for just a few minutes of your time to think about my friend Tammy and her 17 year old son Kyler as I share their story.
There are so many things I have to share about Tammy and her incredible life on this earth.
She's been my friend since we were coodie glasses wearing second graders at JFK elementary school in Butte Montana. We were in Blue birds, secret sisters, our moms sold Avon. We were into simple things like sledding up in Walkerville and playing in the dirt or drawing pictures. We planned things like wearing the same rainbow shirts and moon boots. We went to 'unemployment camp' together where I saved her life when she choked on a cough drop.
Many things we have shared throughout our lives as friends, some simple and some very complicated.
The suicide of her young brother, moving away from eachother and the death of her father being some of the hardest.
A lot of things have parralled in our lives like our first boyfriends, the loss of relationships, abuse, marriage, chickenpox, the birth of our children (two weeks apart from eachother.. she had TWINS!!) Through changes of jobs, moving, loss of our home, celebration and harsh realities of life...we remain friends.
I have watched my friend overcome so many obstacles in her life and I am honestly in AWE of her strength.
We rely on eachother to make sense of life, but there was one conversation I couldn't make sense of.
With everything we have gone through together in life, the most recent news is the most difficult.
When she told me that her son was losing his eyesight because of a brain tumor I was at a loss for words. It must be something simple and operable because how could the universe justify anything serious for her son and his mother after everything they have already been through?
Unfortunately, it is serious. A glioma. Inoperable.
Kyler is 17 and lives with his father in the LA area and Tammy lives with Kyler's twin sister, Hannah, in Concord California where she teaches elementary school.
Kyler's dad often travels with business and Kyler is often on his own to attend his chemo and radiation treatments and care for himself at home. His first round of treatments went very well and were manageable for him. According to Tammy, he is being so brave and grown up.
In order for Tammy to be with her son, she has to take days off of work and fly. Her heart is breaking as she longs to be with her son to care for him like only a mother could.
She struggles with the many other obligations she has as a provider for her daughter and teacher to her kids at school.
She is determined to be strong for her son yet it is very difficult to balance her needs and everyone elses as she is not afforded the luxury of being able to afford to travel or leave work as her heart aches to do.
She needs a lot of support to stay strong for him and Kyler needs his mom.
I am hoping that this account will show her that we are all behind her and Kyler and know how important it is to be with the ones you love.
Even if you do not know her, I am sure you can imagine how difficult this must be for them to be apart during this difficult time.
100% of the Money raised in this GOFUND me will go to my friend Tammy to give her the freedom of affording impromptu visits, celebrations, surprises for Kyler, or whatever she needs to get through this... without the burden of wondering how she is going to pay for it.
I will also accept donations of air miles, gas cards, rental cars or places to stay while she travels.
If you are unable to give a donation, please help me share this story and say some prayers for strenth for my friend and her son Kyler.
**Kyler was granted a wish through the Make a Wish and will travel to Japan in July.
He will continue chemotherapy treatments for several years.
