Tim's Fight with Leukemia

This is my dad, Tim Roach (58) of Syracuse, NY. 

He is the strongest man I’ve ever known.  He walked into the hospital on the 28th of December 2017 after a day of physically demanding work as a welder/pipe-fitter; suffering from a severe shortage of breath that has plagued him for the last several weeks.  Upon receiving results of several tests, it was determined that his red blood cell, platelet, and hemoglobin numbers were so low that it was utterly amazing to the hospital staff that he walked in under his own power, much less after working.  After several days of further testing it was determined that he is suffering from a very serious form of blood cancer, advanced stage-4 Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia.  The severity of this condition offers a very dim outlook, an outlook worsened for him by his wife’s (my mother) 18-year fight with breast cancer, the last 8-years also with stage-4, a fight she sadly lost in the spring of 2010. After starting chemo therapy less than 24 hours after being admitted; Tim is prepared to fight with as much grit and courage as my mother did. 

My dad, a father of 4 and grandfather of 7, has always and remains to be one to worry about others rather than himself.  He is also not the type of man to ask for assistance in times of turmoil, despite his primary concern of not being a financial burden to his family, stemming from incredibly expensive medical testing and treatments; one medication alone costing as much as $10,000 per month.  However, given the severity of his condition, I am asking all I know for any assistance you can offer to help ease this burden for him so that he may concentrate on this difficult battle with Leukemia. 

It’s horrifying to lose a mother at 52, and the thought of losing my dad at 58 is unbearable.  Anything you can offer, even if only a link share is very much appreciated.  Thank you for your time, and please keep Tim in your thoughts and prayers.
