TMBTB rebuilds after Typhoon Haiyan

Donation protected
Members and friends of This Must Be the Band (lead singer Charlie Otto, percussionist Nathan Levi Baltimore and manager Vanessa Robinson) are traveling to Bantayan Island to help with relief efforts after Typhoon Haiyan. We will be traveling over to the Philippines in January via Young Pioneer Tours Volunteer program to rebuild Santa Fe Elementary School. Santa Fe Elementary is the largest public elementary school in Santa Fe, Bantayan Island and has been severely damaged by the storm. Before the school can be reopened, the roof, walls, grounds and electrical system must be repaired as well as painting, redecorating and restocking all school supplies.

Our travel, food, stay and regular living needs will not be funded by any organizations, rather we are paying for the time spent ourselves. In an effort to offset some of the costs, we are raising funds to help get over to the Philippines and support ourselves while we help rebuild the elementary school.

Typhoon Haiyan made its way through the southern Philippines hitting land on November 8th. According to many reports the typhoon resulted in over five thousand deaths and displaced millions, leaving over 13 million people affected by the storm. Rebuilding elementary schools is just one small step to put these communities back in living order.
