"It started by simply buying a dresser. And ended up changing lives.

I am an artist who works in many artistic medias.

As I went to buy a beautiful dresser to paint and sell, it turned out the owners of the beautiful set of bedroom furniture have been selling all their worldly goods. Everything.  I began to feel as if I needed to comfort this torn woman in some small way, so I put my arms around her.....

...And with her head on my shoulder she began to weep. And confide.

In January of last year their beautiful son, TJ  was brutally murdered and found on the Montana Yaak River. Horrifyingly and without mercy, he was left for scavengers.

With broken hearts, this couple is attempting to start a new life without their child....

losing all their savings and employment in pursuit of justice, and having to leave their beautiful home.

Without going into the horrific details, this loving mother wept in my arms.

I was moved beyond words. How do you console a broken spirit? I felt completely inadequate and unworthy....

and I ended up purchasing the entire bedroom set.

With the help of ShePaints (Kristin Calhoun) and Treasures Rediscovered(Theresa Merritt Barker) nationally known artists who are traveling across the country to help, we are going to rescue this amazing set, give it a beautiful, celestial facelift (lots of creamy white, pewter and pearl), we will then transport this set many, many miles to  their new location as a gift to this family in the hopes of bringing them just a small bit of comfort.

We have four days to complete our task. Anything is possible with prayer!

I’m telling this story with trepidation. But I want you to know how blessed I feel because of the love of my Savior, who is my Comforter.

I’m also so grateful for Theresa and Kristin for their generosity and willingness to be a large part of this dream.

We will document as we go, so you all can share in the story.

With our GoFudMe funds we will be re-furbishing this exquisite bedroom set and giving it back to this family, helping to fund moving expenses, funding of plane tickets, and living expenses. This precious GoFundMe account will help to do the impossible: helping this couple heal and try to move on without their beloved son.

They have not asked for help at any point in their nightmare.

We estimate the expenses and costs will be in the thousands. We as individual artists have paid much of the upfront costs of travel and supples. The family is currently unemployed and dilegently seeking work.
