Help Rose Fight Stage IV Cancer

It’s with great sadness that I am asking for your help for our dear friend Rose Marie Henry.
Just recently, Rose was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. She is undergoing chemotherapy and will soon return home to Jamaica.
We’ve had the pleasure of knowing her during the last five years, as she travels here for seasonal hospitality work as a chef, at The Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, through the H-2B visa program. Rose has been featured by our local news numerous times for bringing her authentic cuisine to our hometown through the annual Jamaican dinner at Aerie. She has impacted our small community with not only her talented cooking, but with her big heart and warm smile.



During this difficult time, she’s holding onto her faith and trying to remain positive. Rose is continuing to work  while undergoing  her chemotherapy treatments! We were somewhat taken aback by her decision. We suggested she should be saving her strength to keep her body strong. Her response was incredibly heartwarming. She stated that she truly loves cooking for people and it brings her immense joy. She loves the comradery of the kitchen and it is what she does best.  After she finishes her last round of chemo in November, Rose will make the journey back home to her family. Right now she is only surrounded by her friends and coworkers.
