TASU Theatre Company

TASU "” Try And Stop Us Theatre Company "” was founded by two Southwest High School students, Abby Hilden and Meredith Casey. Because of their interest in directing, and the school's reluctance to allow controversial shows, the two took it into their own hands. The company name originated as a joke between the girls, but eventually was taken seriously and is now on its way to becoming a non-profit in Minneapolis.
TASU was created to allow high school students around the Twin Cities to participate in meaningful shows that may not be performed in their schools. The idea of a student-run company allows them to flourish in front of their peers, and collaborate with students of their own age. With minimal help from adults, students can learn first-hand about the art of creating theater, and the immense amount of work it can be. It's a learning process for everyone involved, which is what makes it so unique.
The production team is excited to announce that Southwest seniors, Angie Vaaler and Charlotte Anderson, will be taking over the reigns as co-directors, with musical direction by St. Paul Central junior, Isaac Blumfield in spring of 2014.
TASU is an amazing experience for all involved. However, putting on a student run production isn't possible without the help of our generous donors!! Paying for the rights of the show, the rehearsal space, performance venue, microphone rental and countless other costs can get expensive. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Any amount helps. Thank you!!
