Please Help Sally
\"Sally\" is an amazing stray dog who wandered into our hearts and homes about two weeks ago. See her full story below.
We are working to raise $2,100 to pay for the dental work that Sally needs to remove her dead teeth, save the remaining teeth, and relieve her chronic pain. The procedure includes pre-surgery blood analysis and drugs for pain and infection, multiple tooth extraction, bone grafts, anesthesia, an IV, X-rays, a nerve block, and post-surgery drugs for pain.

About 2 weeks ago, Karen Atkins was driving
home after a long day of walking dogs. Karen is the owner of Sleep Tight
Pet Care and also a volunteer with divine canines. It was 9pm and one of
those rare nights in Austin when it has just rained.
Out of nowhere, in the pitch dark, a little dog darted out into the middle of the street, and Karen almost hit her! Karen pulled over immediately, and the dog came bounding towards her, and jumped right into her car.
And that is how \"Sally\" came into our lives.
Karen\'s dog, CJ, was none too happy with her arrival, so Karen\'s neighbors graciously agreed to keep Sally overnight. She was so adorable and friendly that we were convinced t hat someone must be missing her and frantically looking for her.
That, unfortunately, was not the case.
Karen\'s friend, Lisa Myers, also a divine canines volunteer, took over fostering Sally. She brought her to the vet to get her examined, vaccinated, tested for heartworm disease, and spayed.
Sally recovered nicely from her surgery only to find out that she has severe dental problems. Her bite has been out of alignment so long that her top and bottom incisor teeth (all 12 of them) are all ground down and necrotic (i.e., dead). These and two, maybe all four, of her canine teeth have to be extracted. She also has fractures in her premolars which the dentist hopes to save.
The dentist believes she has been in pain for a long time. We really want to help Sally get the procedures she needs to restore her mouth to health and prevent future issues, like renal disease and cardiovascular problems, that can result from her condition.
