Founded in 2009, we work tirelessly to feed the most vulnerable children. Every weekend we provide 6 meals and snacks for children who normally receive free meals at school. Children are thoughtfully selected by their school, church, daycare or other service agencies.
Operation Full Bellies is currently feeding 163 children in need every week. This requires us to collect and/or purchase food for 978 meals and 652 snacks.
Its a tall order for a non profit based in an economically repressed, rural area. Our valley is designated by a major non profit as having greater needs than the community itself can provide for. This requires us to go far and wide to feed our hungry children. It also requires us to be frugal and creative with the resources we are entrusted with.
We are a 100% volunteer run and operated 501c3 non profit allowing us to keep our operating costs very low.
The blessings of doing this work are many. From the little girl who wants to give you the orange she just received in her bag to thank you; to the teacher who shares with you the excitement that a child has to get their weekly bag; to the heartbreaking story of the child who hides his bag outside so his parents don't eat it; to delivering to the child who lives with no running water and electricity much of the time who wants to hug you for feeding them.
It takes a village to raise children with a solid foundation. Will you be part of our village to feed our children in need?
