Surgery for Hawkeye

Donation protected

Meet Hawkeye! He is generally a vivacious, frisky, rambunctious and loving 9 month old, Siamese kitten. Recently though, he became very sick! Lately, he has had trouble using the litter box and can never seem to get the job done. Within one days time, he stopped being able to urinate, had no desire to eat or drink water and began vommiting until nothing but spit and water came out anymore. When we try to hold him it sends pain shooting throughout his tiny body.  We became incredibly concerned and within hours, took him to Summit Veterenary hospital. They took him through triage and determined the he had a blockage of "sedament" or tissue in his bladder and his urethra, bladder and kidneys were swollen and in terrible shape. They decided to admit him into the hospital to insert a catheter and try to stabilize his vitals in order to break apart the blockage and allow him to express his bladder. The cost for the stay so far, catheter procedure, medications, sedations and everything involved has already reached $2,200, which we've had to place on a credit card for payments. After the procedure things looked as though they were looking up for him, his vitals stabilized, he was drinking and eating and even removed his own catheter in order to use a litter box.  The hospital even called and told us we could bring him home as long as we kept close watch. Suddenly, today, we received a call informing us that he re-obstructed and was now urinating blood and that his kidneys, and now his liver, are at  extremely dangerous levels. They're saying now, that the only possible fix for this, is a surgery that costs over $3,500. This surgery would ensure that this obstruction will never happen again, and it's a guarentee that he'll be healthy in the aftermath.  The only problem is, we already will struggle paying the intial $2,200, and have no credit or savings that could even get us close to covering the cost of his surgery. It breaks my heart to say that for my sweet little Hawkeye, this means life or death. Without the surgery, he'll have to be put on expensive medication that isn't guaranteed to work and without the catheter,  he'll have a continuously high chance of more tissue re-obstructing his bladder, which will do severe damage to his already weakened kidneys, as well as the rest of his body. My family has decided that if all hope is exhausted with finding the funding to go through with the surgery, that we will have to euthanize him in order to save him from struggling for the rest of his life. I understand that death is an inevitable fact for all of us, but i just cannot give up on this little soul now. Asking for help is the hardest thing i've ever had to do, but if anyone could find it in their hearts to give even a dollar towards Hawkeye's surgery, then it will all be worth it in the end. Please help me raise the money for the surgery that will save my kitten. Thank you.
