Surgery for Hit & Run Victim,Marvin

Marvin is an 8 year old cat whom I rescued in 2010. He has been with me through all major events in my life since then, and is a huge part of my family. He is a best friend to both me and my husband and has even moved countries with us, as we just could not bare to leave him when we were offered an opportunity to relocate to Denmark from the UK. He is very affectionate, vocal and loving, and life just wouldn't be the same without him in it.
On Friday 4th August Marvin went missing. We were frantic with worry about what could have happened to him when he did not come home that afternoon or all the next day, and it was only through the kindness of local neighbours that we found out that he had been hit by a car on Friday morning.
Luckily, our amazing neighbours who helped him when the driver did not stop, managed to have him picked up by a recue service and he was taken to a local animal hospital where they discovered he had a broken lower jaw, and complicated pelvic fracture. He was in so much pain he could not eat and so had to be given a nasal tube to provide food.
He now needs surgery to fix his broken bones, along with the ongoing medical treatment to help him pass urine, manage the severe pain he is in, and general round the clock care. We don't know exactly how much the total will come to yet, but we are already at a running cost of over 20,000 kr and that's without any intervention to his pelvis - which is looking quite likely. We expect the total care cost to reach around 40,000 kr.
We are not sure if he will ever regain full bladder control, but not trying to save him is simply not an option for us. The house is so quiet without him.
We have some of the funds already, but need to raise the rest of the money to save our best friend. We are appealing to animal lovers the world over, and to all those that know and love Marvin as much as we do.
