Maggie Needs Surgery!

Maggie is our cuddly, corky pup and is the first dog my husband and I adopted together. She is a 5 year old American Staffordshire Terrier, German Shepherd & Bullmastiff mix, and is a super sweet, smart and happy girl. Anyone who stays over knows they wont be sleeping alone because Maggie LOVES to cuddle!  At this time, she has bilateral anterior cruciate ligament ruptures (which basically means she has torn BOTH of her ACL ligaments in her knees).  The right one was torn about 3 years ago.  It was completely torn, but it actually seems to have healed a bit and is functioning somewhat normally at this point. A little over a year and a half ago, she tore the cruciate ligament as well as the meniscus (which cushions the joint) in her left knee. Whenever she walks or attempts to run the knee pops horribly.  She is on restricted activity and confined to the house because any activity causes pain and can worsen her injuries. She had a visit with a specialist after a few diagnostics at her regular vet.  According to the specialist, her best option is the TPLO surgery , due to the age and severity of the injury. Unfortunately, it is the most expensive option, costing a little over $3000. We are saving for her first surgery, but it is proving to be difficult! Maggie is a very happy and active girl normally. I feel terrible that she cannot go outside and chase the lizards (which she LOVES) or just run around in the yard with her buddy, Studley. She sits by the backdoor while Studley runs around outside. It makes me feel terrible.  If you are able to donate even a little bit to help us out with the cost of the surgery it would be greatly, greatly appreciated!  ANY amount will help!
