Hi. We would never in a million years would have thought our lives would forever change from Jenna being at horse camp to falling off the horse and breaking her wrist to then getting a chest x-ray which led to a CT scan which then led us to then finding a mass in her stomach and getting admitted to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital in Orlando.
After extensive testing Jenna has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. We started treatment at Arnold Palmer on 1/5/2024.  I don’t think any parent could prepare themselves for this type of diagnosis.  We have insurance but it does not cover everything, treatment would not commence unless we paid a deductible upfront. Nothing will stop us from giving Jenna the best care that she needs. After talking with Matt and reviewing our plan moving forward, I need to be there for Jenna to support her and care for her during her treatment so I have talked to my boss and decided that I will be stepping away until Jenna recovers. This is why I am reaching out. We have no idea what is in store for us emotionally, physically, or financially so we are taking it one day at a time.
