Fourth District St. Louis Metropolitan Police Officer - Jarrod Henderson was diagnosed with prostate cancer in the early months of 2017. There is never really a good day or age to receive the news of having cancer.
His doctor monitored the cancer's progression for almost a year and noticed a steady growth. By December 27th, 2017, the growth reached the point where the doctor strongly recommended the removal of his prostate. Jarrod took the advice of his doctor and had his prostate completely removed.
As we all were celebrating the holidays, Jarrod spent many days and nights in the hospital with his family standing beside him. With this illness, Jarrod has been unable to work overtime and secondary employment. Jarrod's spouse was laid off her teaching job in August and has yet to find employment elsewhere. Jarrod's children are in constant worry of why their father is sick. This is just the beginning of Jarrod's journey with cancer.
This is where we come in. Medical bills are expensive. Life is expensive. With an ambiguous course of treatment, no one knows how long Jarrod will be out of work. His friends, family and colleagues are beginning to come together to be supportive of him. As a friend and colleague of Jarrod, I am coming to each of you to ask for help by asking for a donation. With these donations, we want to attempt to ease and minimize the financial strain this illness will bring to Jarrod so that he will be able to focus on fighting through his upcoming days.
Any donation, in any amount, will help with the medical bills and with the expenses that will occur during the course of events in his near future. Any donation you can make, even any message of support would be greatly appreciated by everyone who knows Jarrod.
