12 yr old girl vs Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma

Valerie, (Vooey) is a beautiful 12 year old girl, who has recently been diagnosed with B cell lymphoblastic, Non- Hodgkins lymphoma. She is fortunate, she has a good prognosis, but with a very long road of treatment ahead of her. The treatment over the duration will become extremely expensive.

Her family will need all the financial support they can be offered during this time. Traveling expenses to the hospital for one treatment alone can range close to $100. This is a tiny portion of the medical expenses they will incur. Her chemo treatment protocol is going to be a minimum of 18 months. Hardly anyone budgets for costly illnesses or diseases.

To make this site, I asked Val's mom if she could "sum Val up" in a few sentences for me, (not telling her why). Here's how she describes her daughter: "She is our sunshine. She has a heart of gold. She is sweet, super smart, inquisitive, sentimental, caring, funny, shy, strong minded, decisive, a critical thinker, AND the most beautiful girl in the world, inside & out.

"It isn't fair," "she's only 12 years old" "Cancer sucks," etc, etc. All true statements. How many times have you heard Cancer doesn't discriminate?
