We're raising funds for the KRZYSZTOF NOWAK Foundation in Wolfsburg!
This GoFundMe was originally set up to raise funds to get Ed Kirwan, a die-hard Vfl Wolfsbug fan, to see the soccer match between Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich in Wolfsburg, Germany. Ed had finished second in a close contest to win a trip to watch Wolfsburg play, and we felt that he deserved to go to Wolfsburg to see the match. However, Ed felt that funds raised would better serve a worthy cause.
Therefore, at Ed's request, we have decided to raise funds for the KRZYSZTOF NOWAK Foundation , a non-profit that is close to Ed's heart, instead. The mother of a friend of Ed recently passed away from ALS, so Ed felt that supporting the KRZYSZTOF NOWAK Foundation was the right choice.
The KRZYSZTOF NOWAK Foundation assists charitable causes and supports people suffering from ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis – also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease), which in 2005 claimed the life of former VfL Wolfsburg player Krzysztof Nowak.
So here's what we're trying to do: raise $1,000 for the KRZYSZTOF NOWAK Foundation. All funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will go to the Foundation.
Reaching this fundraising goal would means important funds would be available for a very worthy cause, and it would be an awesome display of community support for Ed, who has proven himself to be a very humble and selfless individual (not to mention a Woolfsburg superfan!)
