Support Purdue Student Kaylee

December 29, 2013 Kaylee's life was forever changed. The birth of her first born son also revealed a massive malignant tumor in her abdomen.

On January 31st Kaylee underwent a lengthy surgery to remove the tumor. She lost her stomach, spleen, and 40% of her pancreas. The margins were clear and now Kaylee just needed to learn how to live with her new anatomy. Kaylee became stronger and stronger.

She had a follow up MRI at the end of March and got the all clear. She began working again in May. She and her baby boy moved into their new apartment at the beginning of June. She was looking forward to student teaching in the fall and graduating with a double major in December.

As the month of June progressed she began to feel weaker and weaker. She began losing the weight she worked really hard on gaining. We celebrated her birthday with dinner at Olive Garden on July 3rd. That evening we decided to take her to the ER in hopes that they could give her a shot of B12 or something to get her feeling better.

Kaylee's life was turned upside down again. She was admitted for critically low potassium levels. A CT scan also revealed that the tumor had metasisized. She now has several tumors. She began chemotherapy at the University of Chicago and has since transferred her care to IU in Indianapolis.Kaylee is fighting for her life! She has HUGE medical bills and more importantly a little boy to raise. Please help support Kaylee and her little boy!
