I'm creating this GoFundMe for my Mom, Stepdad and baby brother John Joseph AKA: Jo-jo, JJ, John John and Baby Pubert.
My Mom and Stepdad have never asked for anything other than a child for my Stepdad, he had an accident when he was younger and was told he would never have children. After Trying for many years and giving up they were finally able to conceive a beautiful and sweet baby boy they named after my Stepdad's Grandfather that passed away shortly before JJ was born.
For the first couple of months everything seemed to be fine. Then one day out of the blue JJ started seizing. He was rushed to the hospital in Louisiana where they immediately wanted to put him on medication instead of looking further. Since that had only been the beginning my mom asked that they wait to see if he had another before starting him on such strong medications since he was so young. Almost exactly a month later he had another and they (my parents) reluctantly started the medication. Time went on and he was having 1 seizure around the same time every month. Here recently he has had up to 3 in a month and the doctors have told them everything from: "He will grow to be mentally retarded" to "He won't make it past 5yrs old" all of this is very devistating to my mother. She has always been ALL about her children.
JJ is only 10 Months old and has had over 10 Seizures. Each time the hospital bills tack on. Minimum of $1300 just for the ride to the hospital, that doesn't include any testing or traveling they have done. My parents have traveled to Texas and Currently they are in Tennessee doing more testing to find out EXACTLY what is going on. We are hoping for better news than what we have heard so far, but in the mean time I'm asking for financial help for them. They give and give without ever asking anything in return. I'm asking that you give whatever you can to help ease their Finacial struggle so they can focus on treatment and hopefully a cure for JJ.
