Solidarity With Dyab Abou Jahjah

Nederlandse tekst :
(English text below - Texte Francais plus bas)

http://www.aboujahjah.org/articles-and-columns/ten-points-on-the-truck-attack-in-jerusalem

English Text:

Last week De Standaard decided to end its contract with writer and activist Dyab Abou Jahjah, who was writing a weekly column in the daily since January 2014. The reason of this drastic decision is that Abou Jahjah expressed his solidarity with the right of the Palestinian people to resist the illegal Israeli occupation by any means necessary and available. This is a position that is in alignment with international law and with United Nations resolutions.
The fully argumented position of Abou Jahjah can be read on his blog here:  http://www.aboujahjah.org/articles-and-columns/ten-points-on-the-truck-attack-in-jerusalem

A campaign against him was immediately launched by the far right NVA party  and the pro-Israel lobby demanding his immediate dismissal by De Standaard, which they eventually did.

This is a flagrant act of violation of freedom of speech cannot stand. We want to keep reading the weekly column of Dyab Abou Jahjah and we will not accept that he will be silenced.
This is why we are gathering the necessary funds to allow him to keep writing and keep publishing his weekly column every Friday on his website and sharing it with all of us.
If you also want to read his column, and if you agree with the principals of freedom of speech, the right of the Palestinian people to resist occupation under international law, and you refuse censorship, you can support this call by contributing financially to meet the goal of € 15,000. This will enable Dyab to keep on publishing his column and free from any negative financial impact due to this blatant violation of his right to freedom of opinion.
