Hope and Alexus Victims of DV

Donation protected

Hi my name is Joy Ruth...Hope Washington is my sister and Alexus Washington my niece. Hope was born and raised in York PA.  She resides in Georgia for the past 18 years.  I'm speaking on behalf of our entire family and reaching out to everybody that reads this story.  We are asking for your help in this difficult time to make a donation.  Anything you can do will be greatly appreciated.  We want to take the financial stress off of them so they can focus their energy on healing & getting better. They both have a long road to recovery.  The money will be used toward medical bills, counseling, a place to live that they can call home again etc. Please help in being a part of piecing their life back together again.  This story you will see below has touched so many hearts and I hope after reading this....it will have touched yours as well.
On 08/09/2014 my sister Hope age 42 and my neice Alexus age 15 lives have changed forever. Both of them shot by husband/father in their home that they lived in for 13 years.  My sister Hope covered in blood after being shot four times...one to the head. My neice Alexus shot one time and left lying on the back deck. My sister tried to get away but he pulled her back in the house.  At some point she managed to get away from him and got out of the house to cry for help!  The only thing that was on her mind was to save her daughters life.  My sister is a HERO because she not only saved her daughters life but hers as well. Hope stayed alert the whole entire time till she knew her baby was rescued to safety.  Alexus was airlifted to the hospital in serious condition and still in the ICU. Alexus sent to one hospital and Hope to another.  The hospitals are 45 mins away from each other. Hope wanting to be with her baby girl and Alexus needing her mommy. They both have went through multiple surgeries and have more ahead. PLease keep Hope & Alexus in your prayers as they still have a long road ahead of them to recovery. I will post updates on their status/condition when the time is right to share more.  Two beautiful girls on the inside/outside shouldn't have NEVER had to experiences such a HORRIBLE ACT...that will be in their mind forever. I can't even imagine, to have lived through that and what was going through their minds in those last few seconds. As Our Mother Shirley would say.... the Angels were with them and God wasn't ready for them yet!!!! This tragedy has really hit home for all of us as a family because you never think something like this would happen to your loved ones.  It goes to show how your life can be turned upside down in a blink of an eye.  Let's all reach out to Hope and Alexus with love and support to encourage them in the days, weeks and months ahead as they make their road to recovery. Please make the Connection now by sharing this story and link with everybody you know, all over the world through Facebook, email etc. Making a donation as little as a dollar, will make a difference in their life.

This goes out to all of the neighbors, friends, co-workers etc. and to anybody that has been a part in showing their love.  Hope and Alexus were surrounded by all your love & support in the first minutes, hours and days.We thank you from the bottom of Our hearts!

To the person that heard the gun shots and made the initial call to the police that day.  You are a HERO!!!! There aren't enough words to describe how thankful we are for You and your Family! You will FOREVER be in all of Our heart.

To the Doctors and Nurses that were working the day this tragedy all took place. Having the BEST team on duty and being prepared when they arrived at each Hospitals (Kennestone & Grady.)  You as a Team working together in saving their lives....you are amazing!!!! To the Doctors and Nurses that are still caring for them today...you are awesome! You have all made a difference in Hope & Alexus's life. You will always be remembered!  We will be FOREVER GRATEFUL of each and everyone of you at Kennestone, Grady & Children's @ Egleston of ATL.  We sincerely thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!!!
