EPIC Dad is a Community Interest Company (not-for-profit organisation) committed to supporting fathers, father figures, and families. The letters of EPIC stand for Encourager - Provider - Instructor - Carer (4 key roles of a father or father figure we want to celebrate and support in families and communities).
Our vision is to "Restore the role of fathers" and our 3 main aims are to: 1. Support men, 2. Empower fathers, and 3. Transform families. This is accomplished through a variety of activities including: Dads and children's clubs, Family events, Parenting courses for dads, Preparation groups for new fathers, distribution of EPIC Dad Survival Kits (backpacks for new fathers), One-to-one mentoring, Social and Support groups for dads, and lots more.
We have recently established a new base of operations in a room next to Risby Roadside Restaurant (117 Newmarket Rd., Risby, Bury Saint Edmunds, Suffolk IP28 6RD). From here, we will have our main office, a place for storage of equipment, and a community space used for various clubs and groups supporting dads. This strategic location in West Suffolk will enable us to support more fathers and families in the surrounding towns and villages. We are requesting support to help us with the operational costs of the new centre (e.g., rent, utilities, equipment, etc.).
Thank you so much for partnering with us in this much needed work in helping dads and encouraging their relationship with their children. We believe that the EPIC Centre will take our work with dads to the next level! It is something truly unique to have a centre with a focus on fatherhood and geared towards the needs and interests of dads. We hope this will be the first of many EPIC Centres.
