Dear Sir/Madam
My name is Sadet Drala and I am from FR Macedonia. My daughter's name is Azra Drala and she is four years old.
Azra has been ill since the day she was born. She was born on September 12, 2007 and in the first couple of days of her life she was diagnosed with: Renal agenesis of the left kidney, renal digenesis of the right, ureterohydronephrosis and chronic kidney disease. Because of her non-functional kidneys peritoneal therapy, as a means of kidney replacement therapy, had to be started, so since 2009 she was on peritoneal dialysis in Macedonia . Unfortunately in January 2011 after couple complicated infections of the peritoneal catheter she had to stop with peritoneal dialysis and we were sent to the University Children's Hospital in Belgrade , Serbia where she could continue with life saving treatment of hemodialysis. This type of treatment is not performed for such small children in Macedonia , which was the main reason why were sent to Belgrade .
At this point Azra is still at the University Children's Hospital and kidney transplantation from a living related donor is planned. Transplantation in a foreign country, such is Serbia , costs money, although the cost of living donor kidney transplantation in Serbia is far less than the cost in any other European country at this moment. University Children's Hospital accepted to do the operation even thou Azra is complicated patient, being as small as she is.
This is the reason why I am writing this letter with only one request to help my family in long and enduring process of collecting money for this complicated but lifesaving operation for my daughter Azra. My family is in difficult situation because while Azra is on dialysis my husband and I have to stay in Belgrade , far from home in a rented apartment, we do not work, and our other child is in Macedonia . Both emotionally and financially this is a very difficult situation for our family and without help future is uncertain.
Any help would be of great importance for us and we as a family do hope that you will find understanding to help us.
