to get us to our goal! We are amazed and inspired at the generosity of others. Many have asked if they can still share or donate for Stella’s service dog. If additional funds are received, they will go towards the cost of service equipment such as a balance harness, medicine vest, extended care, and expenses for the one week family training in Missouri. Of course...he will also need lots of bow ties according to Stella!

On March 18, 2014, Casey and Amber Vogt learned their daughter, at just three months old, had a brain tumor. Stella was accepted to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital for extensive imaging and surgery. Her family was informed that she had a rare vascular tumor, the fourth child known, that damaged her left temporal lobe, middle and inner ear structures, and eroded the skull base. Stella was transferred to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to a specialized medical team for further treatment.
And for five years, Super Stella has continued to fight. She fights not only the residual tumor, but epilepsy, vestibular dysfunction, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), vision and unilateral hearing loss, and periventricular heterotopia (nervous system disease). As a medically fragile child, she spends a lot of time traveling to the hospital in Cincinnati for treatment, days in clinic, and undergoing countless labs, tests, and imaging. While at home in Georgia, she also has daily therapy. She has been blessed with a committed and talented medical team in Cincinnati, and the support of friends and medical staff at home. By God’s grace, Stella continues to amaze her doctors and therapists at every turn. She is truly a miracle!
Stella’s journey now takes her to an exciting juncture - she is a candidate for a seizure response service dog that will also service her ASD and vestibular needs. He will respond to her seizures by alerting a caregiver while also comforting her, and serve as a balance tool as she negotiates stairs and play. The service dog will provide sensory input, absorb anxiety during her time at the hospital as well as in daily life, and provide pressure at night to relieve restless leg and help her sleep. This is an important investment in Stella’s future. It will give her an opportunity to gain independence and confidence as she grows, and remain safe as she manages the world. The dog selected for Stella is undergoing intense, daily training for over a year to service her specific needs.
Friends, family, and strangers have prayed for Stella tirelessly over the years - thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Continued prayers are appreciated as Stella’s journey moves forward. God continues to provide for her, and has done so much in her life and those her story touches.
