It is 10 years since my son Joshua Wilson was diagnosed with a brain stem tumour when he was 3 and a half in March 2004.
The day we found out marked the start of a journey that we could never have imagined would have been such an emotional rollercoaster of heartbreak, pain and yet, celebration too.
Josh is now 13 and March 30th 2014 will be the 10 year anniversay of his brain surgery - the day that changed our world for ever.
Left with a reoccuring brain tumour, complex neuromuscular post surgery disabilities, chronic lung problems, severere scoliosis, epilepsey, visual impairement to name just a few, Josh has been challenged with ongoing medical and physical problems that culminated in us nearly loosing him several times over the Christmas period.
Josh is my total inspiration & drive and to honour of how brave, strong & incredibly determind my boy is I am going to mark the date & Mothers Day, on March 30th I will be jumping out of a plane at 14,500ft tandem Skydiving over the Lake District raising money for SuperJosh & The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity.
My target is high, but so is the challenge and the amount raised will signify the importance of this date 10 years ago to me, the journey that we have been taken on and the courage & strength of my son to continue to smile and make the world a happier place despite his pain and discomforts.
