Sunil Kumar - A life suddenly cut short

In April 2017, Sunil Kumar was diagnosed with Stage 4 frontal callosal edema tumor that shook not only our family, but his family of four to the bone. Sunil, our family's best employee since 2008, my fathers' confidante and the son he never had, lives in a small village near Bangalore, India with his old mother and married sisters.

Unfortunately,  He was admitted to Sevakshetra Hospital in Bangalore, Karnataka. His mother, old and frail, wrestles with her ability to make sure he got the best treatment. Sunil comes from a family consisting  of his mother and two married sisters, who by themselves are not well off to support the expenditure towards his medical treatment and upkeep. Although my father has shared the medical expenses with the family, there is still a lot of expenditure to be incurred by his family towards his prescribed chemotherapy and care.

My dad, however remains undeterred in his wish to bring Sunil back to life. We've all contributed, taken care of his medical expenses but due to his condition, the expenses are bound to multiply. Besides his medical and administrative expenses, his mother too needs to be looked after as she has no means of income.

We have consulted some good oncologists, neurosurgeons of Karnataka, India, who have told us that his body cannot take any more surgeries. The hospital too has told that he needs to be discharged. We feel that we need to transfer him to a cancer hospital and continue with a positive treatment to better his chances of survival. He will undergo Chemotherapy as soon as he regains his consciousness and his body becomes strong enough to handle the treatment.

We're all hoping that this medium provides his family the much needed financial assistance besides giving reassurance. We do believe that this world has many who would like to assist those who need a helping hand, We wish to use this fund to take care of his further medical treatment including surgery if any, Post-op care, stability while the Chemotherapy is ongoing and even day to day expenditure for the mother, and some amount will go towards creating a fixed deposit fund to take care of his mother’s maintenance .

Our family, the Raos, are doing everything possible, to take care of him and his family, but any contribution from others would help us in our efforts endlessly.

Also, please feel free to email me if any medical records or additional pictures are required.
