Sumerli Lynch

Life has not been easy for the Lynch family over the last four years. Sumerli had a massive heart attack not long after giving birth to her second child. She spent months in hospitals undergoing surgeries and tests. It was determined that the only way to spare her life was to install an LVAD. It's basically a heart that runs on batteries. It kept Sumerli alive, for which we are all thankful, but it wasn't allowing her to LIVE. Sumerli was listed on the transplant list at the most critical level. However, the doctors told her that it would probably be a while before she received a new heart because of her antibody levels being so high. They told her it was going to take a one in a million heart. Well, last Friday (10/4), Sumerli got the phone call that the doctors believed they had found her one in a million heart. She left for Salt Lake that night and after arriving at the hospital they began running blood tests to make sure that it was a match. The news came back early that morning that is was a 100% match. Surgery was scheduled for later that night and by early Sunday morning the word was that the heart was in, beating on its own, and showing no signs of rejection. There's still a long road to travel, though. Sumerli will have to stay in Salt Lake for the next 3 to 6 months. She and Jason are looking for something to rent without a lease agreement so that they can come home when they get the final okay from the doctors. Then there's also the cost of the medications she is going to have to take for the rest of her life to be sure her body doesn't begin rejecting this new heart. So I set a goal of $25,000 to be raised, but I know how many people love Sumerli and I'm sure we can exceed that. Let's give the Lynch family another miracle!
