Help Ben Beat the Bully

Donation protected
Let me tell you a little about Ben first, then we'll discuss the bully.
Ben is my 15 year old grandson. He was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at 18 months old. When he was 5 years old his mom, my daughter Annie, had brain surgery due to several neurological conditions. She also has Multiple Schlerosis.  She ended up disabled and within a few months Ben's dad abandoned her and their three boys ages 4,5, and 7. He literally left for work in the morning as usual and was not seen or heard from in almost a year.  So Annie and her boys live with me and I do my best to care for them.

Now about the bully:

Ben lives with this bully 24/7. He harasses  Ben  every waking hour. He tells Ben that he is stupid, worthless, can't do anything right and life is hopeless. Ben spends all his time trying to appease or quiet the bully, but everything he has tried up till now has only been mildly effective. This bully has stolen Ben's childhood, his self-esteem, and sucked the joy out of his life. The bully is an anxiety disorder described by Ben's mental health doctors as"the worst anxiety disorder they have ever encountered in a young person". Ben lives in dread constantly. Leaving the house is very stressful for him, especially going to school. He is on anxiety and ADHD medicine. They help him to concentrate better, but his anxiety still overwhelms him so he performs poorly in traditional classrooms. He aged out of the school he has been attending and will need to start 9th grade in a new school in August.

There is a small local school here that is  just for students like Ben. The staff is trained in working with children like Ben. His psychologist has said going to this school could be life-changing for Ben. We met with the principal this week and she told us about the school. I almost started crying. The way they do things is so perfect for Ben. They do eveything they can to reduce anxiety for the students so they can concentrate on learning.

When we left the meeting it was the first time in months that I had seen Ben with a huge smile on his face. He was so excited! But here is the problem, the tuition and fees are approximately $14,500/year.  We have no way of coming up with any extra money. I have been beside myself trying to figure out how this could possibly come to pass. I have been praying for an answer.

Then I discovered we are eligible for a scholarship that could pay a large portion of the tuiton, bringing it down to about $4,000.00.

So I am asking for your help for this beleagured child.
Anything you could contribute would be greatly appreciated. This child deserves a chance to be free of this bully and you could help make that happen.
If you choose not, or cannot, donate anything, you can still help by sharing this message with others and saying a prayer for Ben.
