Still could really use your help

Hi, my name is Emily and I am fundraising for my daughter Savannah and son in-law Mike to bring my new grandson home. Tragedy strikes when you least expect it and this is my sad story. My daughter Savannah's pregnancy went as expected the whole way. Savannah's ultra sound a week before her scheduled C-Section on 1/31/22 was normal and showed no signs of distress. Nothing prepared us for what came next as baby Maverick came into the world. The nurses noticed right away his skin was not as pink as it should be and he was not crying like he should. Before she knew it he was rushed off to Regions Hospital 30 min away. As a mother my heart breaks knowing my baby did not even get a chance to hold her new son before he was rushed off to hopefully get the life saving treatment he needed. While at Regions Hospital it was learned he was severely anemic and had an irregular heart beat. As they investigated the cause of what happened they did everything they could to help him but realized he was in need of an ECMO machine and had to then rush him to Children's Hospital another 20 minutes away. While all of this was going on my baby had to sit and wait since she just had a C-Section and could not follow. Due to all of the COVID policys in place I will not be allowed to meet my grandson until he gets better. As I write this we are on day 3 of piling up medical bills and, while all of it is worth every penny, this puts my children into a life long debt they may never see the end of. They have dreams of buying a home one day and they also have a 6 year old daughter, Kylee, who is the strongest big sister waiting for her baby brother to come home. I want to see them grow from this hard time, and not suffer for years to come with a trailing debt, along with the trauma of what happened. The ECMO machine alone is $5,000 to $10,000 a day plus all of the other life saving treatments. Any donation will help and I am more than thankful for the help that is given.
