Steve's Medical Fund

Have you ever been backed into a corner where you felt there was little hope? My brother, Steve Branham has been debilitated with an undiagnosed auto-immune disease that has been attacking his joints and causes swelling in his extremities. This affliction has at times immobilized him and forced Steve to use a wheel chair.  Even though there is never a good time for suffering, this happened at the worst time possible as he was transitioning between jobs and doesn’t have insurance.  It has made working difficult, but he continues to make the attempt as much as possible, which has limited him to part time employment as the pain can be unbearable at times. 

The Doctors have been unable to pin down exactly what is happening, but are trying numerous treatments.  The most recent decision is to try Humira, which has an astronomical cost per shot, over $2000 per month with no assurance that it will work. These costs, in addition to the $20,000 of medical bills already accumulated in only two months have left him in financial ruin, mentally drained and stressed, which is in no way helping his recovery.  As a last resort, we have had to create this Go Fund Me account because we have exhausted our financial resources but need to continue caring for him physically, which is difficult due to the distance.  Steve lives alone and family is not co-located.  Due to the distances, we just cannot provide the continuous support that he needs.   The medical costs and the everyday necessities have tapped us out. 

Steve is a devoted friend, brother and son and an even better person. We would like to raise these funds to help him pay for bills already accumulated and additional unforeseen costs he will incur as he endures this disease. Any and all help is greatly appreciated, THANK YOU!
