"Starting with My Voice" is an original musical written by Audra Sergel and Trent Rash that was accepted into the 2014 Chicago Musical Theater Festival. The music is beautiful, the story is waiting to be told, the cast is chomping at the bit to perform, but there's just one problem:
But we don't have the money to do this by ourselves. We're doing fundraising shows, putting away money in our own savings and doing a couple of garage sales, but we still need help.
That's where you come in. We need your help (and by help, we mean cash...) to make our dreams come true.
The money that you give us will help our talented cast, crew, and musicians to be able to travel to the Chicago Festival in June and to other cities in the fall! It will also help us to:
buy materials
pay for transportation & accommodations
props and costumes
to promote the show
to pay production costs
to allow us to hire a percussionist
to eat at diners
to live our dreams and live the bohemian artists life
and most importantly, to put up this beautiful piece of art for the world to see.
We've got an amazing cast: Sarah Culp, Brandon Sankpill, Beth Hunter, Trent Rash, Brett Casey, & Eric Myers. We have a mini-van lined up. We're prepared to sleep on air mattresses and eat weird cheese snacks from convenience stores.
We'll be on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter sharing our adventures as we create, rehearse and debut our work and we'll share with you all the places we long to visit along the way.
