2018 is shaping up to be an amazing year, I am turning 50 years old just as I am closing in a goal to run in all six of the World Major Marathons. I have completed Chicago, Berlin and New York and will complete Tokyo early this year leaving only Boston and London to reach my ultimate goal.
As many of you know, Boston Marathon is not only the oldest and most prestigious marathons it is also one of the hardest marathons to qualify for.
I just don’t have the speed to qualify. The people with the Boston Marathon offer bibs to local charitable organizations to assist them with fundraising.
One of these groups is the Hopkinton Center for the Arts and I am proud to be partnering with them to secure this elusive bib for this amazing race. Fundraising goal is $5500.
Hopkinton Center for the Arts has a wonderful history dating back to 1996 and when 5 local artists petitioned the Town of Hopkinton to lease them a farmhouse on just over an acre of land.
22 years later Hopkinton Center for the Arts, an official 501 (c)(3) organization, has a resident theater company in house, Enter Stage Left Theater, and art galleries showcasing a variety of exhibits, including solo artist and educational and community projects.
The Hopkinton Center for the Arts offers classes for youth, teens, and adults in the visual and performing arts. Every year hundreds of students enjoy classes in fine art, dance, music, theater, filmmaking, photography, acting, and ceramics.
I truly believe in what the Hopkinton Center for the Arts is doing for the community and I am asking for your support to reach my fundraising goal for this wonderful group.
