As most of you know, Hurricane Harvey left quite a path of destruction, especially in the Houston area. Hundreds of thousands were impacted and unfortunately, my sister, her husband, and their two little girls were part of those hurt most leaving them without a place to live and mounting financial costs. With over 2 feet of water inside their home that sits in a 500+ year flood plain, meaning it shouldn't flood, they are facing a long road to recovery emotionally and financially. What you may not know is, due to the massive impact of the storm, FEMA is extremely limited on how much they can help all those hurting. What they can offer pretty much covers little more than a bedroom set replacement. Many have donated in some form or fashion whether that be with money, your time, prepping meals, etc and everyone is extremely grateful. If it wasn't for volunteers we wouldn't have been able to complete the demolition of their home over the Labor Day weekend. If you are able to spare any extra and feel led to, please consider donating to my sister's family as they work to rebuild and replace all they lost. Your help will give them the ability to pay bills, and replace items such as basic necessities, food, family heirlooms, furniture, items for their girls (stroller, toys, basics, etc), and their whole kitchen, among many other items.

-Diapers (size 5 & 6) & wipes
-Baby food (stage 3)
-Gift cards for home depot, groceries, restaurants, target or similar stores to replace clothes and other basic items
-If you have access to deals on items that need to be replaced: cabinets, flooring, counters, dining room table/chairs, hutch/china cabinet, bedroom set (2 dressers, night stands, king size bed frame), king size mattress, couch, TV, TV stand, bar cabinet, appliances for kitchen, etc.

I can't thank everyone enough (and I know they can't either) for your assistance in any way, we know they are not alone during this difficult time. We are Houston Strong and Texas Strong.
