Stan and Tamara's Humanitarian Honeymoon

Donation protected
Hi all!  Thank you for taking the time to check out or project.  We are super excited to see where all of this leads and can't thank you all enough for you support!!

SO .... we are getting married this year and would like to kick-start our lives as a married couple by doing something that we will not only never forget, but that will hopefully have a positive impact on people in need of a helping hand. We both have a strong desire to make a difference in someone  else's life, so with this in mind, we came up with the idea for a "Humanitarian Honeymoon."

We have been blessed and have pretty much everything we need as far as any wedding gift ideas we could think of, so we are instead going to ask all of you to be a part of something that has the potential to change lives. (Ours for SURE!) Tam and I have each picked an outreach organization that relies on volunteers to fulfill its mission. A concept known as "voluntourism," which combines volunteering and traveling,  The Idea is to help people around the world make day to day tasks that may seem simple to you and I, a reality.

Our first stop will be Chiang Mai, Thailand to volunteer at the Elephant Nature Park where we will clean, feed and care for the endangered species that Tam is so fond of. Elephant Nature Park's founder, Sangduen "Lek" Chailert has been repeatedly recognized for her voice advocating for a change to the way domestic and wild Asian elephants are treated. Through hard work and determination her voice is beginning to be heard. Tam and I are super excited to go help where needed but to also learn something new in a setting that will allow us to see first hand what the issues actually are. Please click on these links to learn more about this organization and to again see what Tam and I will be up to during our stay.

For our second stop, we have chosen to go to Africa for two weeks to work with IVHQ ( International Volunteer Headquarters ) in Arusha, Tanzania. IVHQ is an organization that supports local orphanages, schools and hospitals in the area that clothe, feed, educate and care for children that have been abandoned for one reason or another or whose parents have died as a result of the AIDS virus. Please click on this link to check out this organization and see some of the things Tam and I will be doing.

We need your help to make this happen: pretty please!!
As we mentioned before, we are going to ask for the people that know us best to support us in our adventure. The support we are going to need is definitely going to be financial as this trip and the things we'd like to do will cost a considerable amount of money and require the use of many different resources.

If there is ANY chance that we would have otherwise received gifts from any of you on our wedding day, we hope you all understand that this is how we would like to receive those gifts instead: The gift of being able to help those in need while experiencing a once in a lifetime trip around the world!! If you know Tam and I, you know this is what we're meant to do!

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support!
