Stanford University Writing Program!

I am a twelve year old writer who loves to write poetry, short stories and plays. I am being published in the Across the Way anthology coming soon on barnesandnoble.com and amazon.com. As well as the creative communications anthology for poetry coming out next month. I have this amazing opportunity to go to one of the best schools in the country to learn and grow my talent for writing. I will learn with renound professers, live in the Stanford dorms and get a peak at what college is like, hopefully leading to a future at Stanford University. I like the fact that I can express myself freely through the written word. Poetry is my way of expressing emotions, showing how I really feel or seeing something from a different point of view. It is so incredible being able to express emotion and personal vision so easily. Please help me reach my goal and for the opportunity to do something life changing. Here is one of my favorite poems written in the past 3 months.

A Magical Place by Lachlan Kelly
The Bahamas, an island under the Queens reign,
is a piece of a far-off land,
hidden away in the heart of the Caribbean
a place that seems like paradise,
appealing to everyone.
Where sea meets land and
palm trees sway in a memorizing motion,
powered by a gentle breeze,
it becomes harmony: a song to enjoy with surroundings,
that entice you so that you never want to leave.
It's so perfect it's as if it were surreal,
and you were trapped by a reflection, stuck in a false reality.
