Stand with Alejandra!

Donation protected

As the mother of a veteran I am passionate about helping other veterans.

Every single day in our nation veterans are committing suicide at the rate of 22 per day.

That is nearly one veteran an hour, nearly every hour, of every day.

We must do better to serve those who have served us.

I am doing my part by providing my training and expertise with horses to volunteer for TRR’s Warrior Camp® program for those who served our Nation.

I need you to support my participation there in March.

Your donation will serve directly to save a veteran’s life:

$22 will provide a chance to the 22 veterans committing suicide every day

$57 will provide 2 sessions of equine Assisted Psychotherapy to a warrior

$143 will provide Equine Assisted Psychotherapy group sessions each day for 5 days

$200 will pay for one entire day of my equine services

$357 will pay for airfare to Newark airport

$1,000 for 5 days of equine therapy for 15 warriors

$3,000 will cover my services for 1 and a half of TRR's Warrior Camp® programs

Donate and know you are helping in the healing of our sons, brothers, husbands, and fathers who can heal from service injuries and serve our communities in a new mission.

HEALING HORSES

As an equine specialist, one of my jobs is to help establish the partnership between horse and human. In doing this, I am honored to witness healing moments again and again. A young warrior who had been seriously injured by an IED in Afghanistan and had to have multiple reconstructive surgeries came to TRR's Warrior Camp® grieving because he was no longer the man he had been before his injuries. He was supportive and encouraging to his comrades, but was reluctant to allow himself to enter into his own healing process.

The horse that partnered with this young man came to us as a former search and rescue horse with huge scars on his front and back legs from a horrific accident during which he was tangled up in barbed wire, and his skin and ligaments were shredded. He had been scheduled to be euthanized until someone stepped in at the last minute to give him another chance and purpose in life.

My heart knew this horse and this warrior were meant to be introduced.

The Warrior was unable to say much to us, so we suggested he tell his story to the horse. He opened himself up to the horse, leaned in, and told his story.

“Would you like to know the horse name and story?”

“Yes.”

We told him the name of the horse was Ranger and his story, and he started to weep. With Ranger's head wrapped around him for a long time the healing began with the soldier’s long held tears.

It was then, finally, that this warrior allowed himself to release his deep, hidden grief of the loss of his physical abilities and the loss of many of his comrades. He and Ranger stayed in their embrace until there were no more tears.

The warrior was finally ready to engage in his own healing process.

The power of the horse is real, allowing the hidden wounds of our veterans to enter into healing light.

SENTIENT HORSES

Horses, by nature, are incredibly sentient beings with great emotional intelligence. They are able to emotionally and energetically connect to humans in ways we are just beginning to comprehend. What we do know is they are natural healers and powerful partners in the field of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. I partner with a mental health professional and horses in this ground-breaking program which allows veterans to connect with horses on intimate emotional levels to help heal the Moral Injury sustained in combat. I have assisted in this connection and healing for the last 10 years and ask you to help me support the next group of veterans in March. Learn more....

Quote from our participants:  "I owe my life to Warrior Camp."

YOU ARE AN INTEGRAL PIECE OF THIS PARTNERSHIP

By donating today, you will allow me to volunteer my time and bring my 10 years of expertise in working with military personnel and horses directly to the veterans in need at this March program. I ask this not for myself, but for the veterans who courageously show up to this program and partner with the horses in order to heal their hearts, minds, and soul.

In order to continue to volunteer in this, my fifth TRR's Warrior Camp® program, I need financial support so I can take care of my obligations at home while I volunteer my time to serve those who served our Nation.
