GoFundSruti!

For nearly a decade, Sruti has been rooted in the mission to be a sanctuary for individual and community growth. This guiding principle has enabled Sruti's doors to be open to a wide variety of community offerings in a way that is accessible to teachers, facilitators, and participants. Countless scholarships, work-trade, donation based events, reduced rates for programs and open access to the space has always been our way.

Teachers from around the world have been inspired to be part of Sruti's offerings, finding the respectful and inquisitive nature of the student and community body a refreshing environment to teach in. We have been successful in fulfilling our own dream and requests from our community to offer not only dedicated yoga practices, but also music, theater, dance, movies, lectures, women's circles, prayer circles, kirtan, sound healing, recovery meetings and meditation.

One year ago Sruti's founder, Amy Webb, gave birth to her first child, Aubren, passing the reigns and all of Sruti's responsibilities to Shannon Maneely-Ranson. In the past year Sruti has seen many changes. Our two studios and new office are now shared with another school, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy. With that, the terms of our lease have changed and we are taking on additional operating costs. Last fall Amy and Shannon entered a partnership for Sruti, to Amy's immense gratitude, enabling her to focus all of her attention on her baby. Shannon invested in necessary and welcomed upgrades to the space. Anyone who has come in has seen an obvious difference in the beauty and functionality of the school. Shannon is also upgrading the online student portal and is working on a new website to help all of these changes become more visible.

It is our continued mission to enable program and participant growth, and to adhere to the principles that have guided Sruti to what it has become thus far. For the first time since we have opened our doors, we are asking our friends and community to help support our own growth.  We are excited to continue to implement changes, offer scholarships, upgrade where needed, and keep our doors open and school thriving for all who come!

We have given careful consideration to what would help us through this transition. We are asking for your support in raising at least $7,500 to assist us with our next phase of growth, namely, offsetting the costs of our new lease obligations, developing of our new website and student portal, and the ability to continue to offer scholarships and fees that are accessible to individual students and our growing community.
