This page has been created to reach out to all of the friends, family, acquaintances and even strangers of Patty, Leticia & Rawan.The three of us are reaching out to all of you to ask for your help as we begin to raise money for a mission trip to Haiti.
We will be working with an amazing organization called One Small House. They began their efforts in Mexico years ago and while they continue to do amazing work there, they have expanded their travels to Haiti. In light of the 2010 earthquake that devastated the people of Haiti, OSH has been making a difference in the lives of many of the people in this impoverished country. There is still an immense amount of work to do out there and the three of us want to take time out from our hectic, self-indulging lives and do something for someone else.
We can provide more information if anyone wants to know more. Any donation, big or small, will make a difference. If you know of any friends, employers or co-workers that you can forward this along to, please do!
As we round out the holiday season and look back at all of the great gifts we not only gave but also received and the times we were able to spend with our families, it is only right to pay it forward to others that are not as fortunate as us.
We have been asked to raise $500 each as well as our airfare. We have set a goal of $3,500 in order to cover all expenses and donations to the cause, with great hopes of surpassing that. We have a little under 2 months to raise the money so go! go! go!
Thank you to all of you in advance for helping us reach our goal and take this trip of a lifetime to make a difference in someone's life. We are forever grateful!

The Haitian family we will be building a new home for:
On March 9 – 15, 2014 our small group of volunteers will build a home for “Evenson’s Family” in Leogane Haiti. To do this we need to raise $10,000 to pay for the home. We humbly ask for your support. Our team would like for you to know more about Evenson, his family and why we are traveling so far to build them a home.
We heard about Evenson, his wife and his five children through our partner organization Little Footprints Big Steps (also known as LFBS). LFBS was co-founded by Morgan Wienberg, a young, energetic, Canadian woman who came to Haiti after the earthquake and found that many of Haiti’s orphanages were corrupt. Morgan made it her mission to take kids out of abusive orphanages, reunite them with their families and support them.
Morgan met Evenson and his family when she was volunteering at an orphanage in Port Au Prince. Evenson and his wife had reluctantly sent three of their children to the orphanage as they could not care for them, but they were so dedicated to watching their children that they lived in a tent outside the orphanage. When Morgan realized that these three kids in the orphanage had a family living outside she immediately took the kids to their parents and offered her support so they did not have to live in an abusive orphanage.
Morgan paid for three of the children to go to school and since the family had nowhere to go Morgan rented a house for them. Later she bought a piece of land for them but the family has not been able to afford to build a home, that is where we come in!!!
Evenson’s wife makes a living by selling small beauty products like soap and shampoo when she can get them but they are so extremely poor. Evenson has a passion for making bread and a plan to build a bakery as the area where their future home will be does not have one.
They have five children three of the children Gemmina Lee, Davidson and Jameson are in school due to the support of LFBS. The family recently had their youngest child die of an unknown illness, this is the light skinned child pictured in the photo.
A good home will help this family prosper, thank you for your consideration of donating.
