Hello everyone,
I am Trey Allen, 2019 graduating senior at Oak Mountain High School in Birmingham, Alabama. I have signed with The University of Louisville in Kentucky on a track scholarship and will begin attending late summer to acquire my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and my Master’s degree in Athletic Training. Recently I was invited to be a part of the 2019 USA Team NSAF (National Scholastic Athletics Foundation) and travel to Havana, Cuba June 5-9. This USA team will be competing against Caribbean and South American athletes. This is only my 2nd year as a track athlete, and I am very grateful to God for this opportunity! NSAF has handpicked 28 athletes (14 boys and 14 girls) that are top high school state and national athletes from around the USA. Their selection is based on several factors, the most important of which is the athlete's potential to represent this country in the future. Following this international competition, 2019 Team NSAF will compete again at New Balance Outdoor Nationals in North Carolina June 13-16. Except for our passport, all athlete's expenses are fully covered by NSAF for our Cuba trip, but non-athletes must cover their own expenses. Athletes and non-athletes must also cover all expenses to New Balance Nationals in North Carolina. Expenses include (airfare, hotel, ground transportation, meals, etc.). This is where I need your help......please, as I need to raise my funds for my expenses to the New Balance North Carolina competition.
In addition, I would greatly appreciate your help in raising money so my mom can join me in Cuba and North Carolina. She is my greatest CHEERLEADER and has supported me 100% of the time by consistently attending my athletic events. It would be wonderful if she could accompany me as I compete for these titles.
My Mom is amazing. She has gone through some very tough times, and yet never missed a beat supporting ME! Specifically, she recently faced major health challenges, including breast cancer that required multiple surgeries. And unfortunately, she is still battling health challenges, but they haven’t stopped her. In addition, several devastating events occurred in our family – my grandmother, Mom's mother, and my uncle, Mom’s younger brother, passed away during the two-year period Mom battled cancer and other health issues. And because of my Mom’s health issues, her employer let her go leaving her without a job. Most people would think the weight would be too overbearing for any family to handle, but not my Mom. She was always there inspiring my little brother and me not to miss a beat and seek our dreams. And as a result, I have withstood adversity and have risen to become one of the top high school track athletes in the USA. I'm very thankful to God and give Him all the glory!!! And I’m very thankful for my Mom who believes in God and believes in me.
Now that you have heard my story and understand my passion, I'm asking for your help and generosity. Anything that you can give is greatly appreciated and a real blessing. My greatest dream is to become an Olympian and compete worldwide. The current competitive opportunities I have will allow me to gain additional national and international experience, which will be beneficial to my future endeavors.
