South Plantation High Theatre for the Deaf Program

Thank you to all who have donated for our past projects! We are currently working on our spring musical The Wedding Singer and are in need of help covering the cost of a pianist and production.
South Plantation High School is the only cluster school in the Broward School District for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Because of this unique status, the theatre program director, Jason Zembuch -Young, has chosen to direct all productions in a style known as "Theatre For The Deaf" with all main stage productions being performed in both voice and American Sign Language. His belief is that theatre should be accessible to ALL students and audiences.
Our program receives $0 from the school board and all monies raised for productions, field trips, competitions etc., are raised by Zembuch, his students and the FOTT. The South Plantation High School Friends of the Theater (FOTT) is a not for profit organization that raises money to support and sustain this program as well as awards four $1,000 scholarships annually to our graduating seniors. We work non stop throughout the year with our fundraisers that include spaghetti dinners, garage sales, bake sales, car washes, candy sales etc and are always seeking support.
