Lenita is my cousin. Recently, her husband passed away suddenly. She has two college-age children who are both working really hard. Lenita is the kind of person that would give you the shirt off her back if she could. We all love her so much, but we all know that times are tough for most people these days, and she's no different.
JP and Lenita struggled in years past financially due to the economy and the crash 10 years ago. JP and Lenita have been through so much together and always made things work. Over the past few years things were really starting to come together with Brian at UMass and Miranda finishing up high school, things were really good.
The sudden loss of JP has taken a financial toll on my cousin, although she's done everything right she is still falling on hard times. As some of you may know her parents have been deceased for some time now, so there aren't many people she can really ask and so I asked her if I could ask the people we know on her behalf. She was reluctant, but I said I know our "village" will want to give if you ask, so I'm asking.
I know that raising this money is not a permanent fix for what is happening, but I know that an infusion of funding will make a world of difference to her in this very difficult time. Losing JP has created a big space where there used to be security and comfort. Some of us can't be there with her to help, so I thought we could do this instead.
JP was a giving, caring person. He would welcome anyone into his home and offer nothing but the best. He loved his family with all his heart. I know he would appreciate any help you can give and I know that this gesture will be remembered.
